The Schlesinger Family Foundation was founded in 1981 by Ralph and Bunny Schlesinger with the purpose of enhancing Oregon and SW Washington by supporting medical research and care, higher education, conservation of the environment, and the general welfare of our communities.

In continuing their legacy, over the last 40 years the Foundation has partnered with some of the most reputable non-profit organizations and local universities in Oregon, Washington and California.

The foundation was a longtime sponsor of The Virtuoso Evening event. An annual event that has raised over $2 million dollars for four local charities dedicated to research and treatment in the fight against diabetes. In addition, the foundation has sponsored numerous scholarships at Portland State University, University of Oregon, Oregon State University, OHSU and Pitzer College amongst other academic institutions.

The foundation honors the legacy of Ralph and Bunny Schlesinger by continuing to support the communities and organizations that help shape the future prosperity of the region.
